FPAN observed World Population Day - 2017:

On July 9, 2017, the side event of World Population Day was marked by organizing national seminar on “Family Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations” at FPAN program Hall. The program was jointly organized by Central Department of Population Studies (CDPS), Ministry of Population & Environment (MoPE), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN). Altogether four papers relating to Family Planning entitled “Investment in Family Planning”, “Family Planning Policies & Strategies”, “Situation of family planning” and “Labor Migration & Fertility Rate in Nepal“ were present in the seminar.

The chief Guest of the program was Honorable Ms. Mahalaxmi Dina Upadhyaya; who is also a chair of Nepalese Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (NFPPD), the special guest was Dr. Bishwa Nath Oli, Secretary, Ministry of population and Environment and Guests were Ms. Amu Singh Sijapati, president FPAN and Ms. Giulia Vallese, Representative, UNFPA.

In the program, FPAN youth members were actively involved in taking photos of policy makers, partners etc. on I decide photo frame and briefed them about I decide campaign.

The main event was organized on July 11, 2017 at Rastriya Sabha Griha where FPAN’s youth volunteers performed Flash mob on the theme of World Population Day by wearing I decide T-shirt and after flash mob our youth volunteers displayed messages relating to Family Planning to the audience. The chief Guest of the program was Hon. speakers Ansari Dharti Magar.
