THREE DAYS LIFE SKILL BASED PEER EDUCATION TRAINING ON SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH & RIGHTS (SRHR) TO PEER EDUCATORS
FPAN has recently organized "Three days life skill-based peer education training on SRHR to peer Educator" for advancing SRHR of Persons with Disability (PwD). Disabled Persons' Organizations (DPOs) like National Disable Women Association (NDWA), Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN), Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and Action on Disability Rights and Development-Nepal (ADRAD-Nepal) have actively participate in the training.
Despite of providing services to various groups, disabled friendly services are still lacking. Seeing the scenario of world, 15% of the world's population live with disability. People living with disability (PwD) are often denied of their sexually and reproductive health rights. In order to minimize the problems and for easy access of services among people living with disability life skill-based peer education training on SRHR was conducted.
The major objectives of the training was to enhance skills and knowledge of peer educators (PE) on basic Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights, to change perception, attitude and behavior of the PEs, the participants would contribute to improve self-esteem of PwD so that they can live with dignified life in the society
