FPAN, Executive Director, Dr. Prabin Shakya and the Senior Management Team met CARE Nepal, USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) Project team, comprising Suzanne Reier, Chief of Party and Min Raj Gyawali, Deputy Chief of Party at FPAN Head Office, Lalitpur on 21th May 2024. In the meeting, Dr. Shakya briefed about the history, growth, current program, coverage, and contribution of FPAN in improving SRH of people across Nepal through advocacy for enabling policies and programs; increasing awareness on FP/SRHR; and increasing access to FP/SRH services via clinical network, mobile camps and community-based distribution. Moreover, he briefed about FPAN’s role in initiation of adolescents and youth’s SRH program in Nepal. He also briefed about FPAN’s contribution in developing National AYSRH Strategy, guidelines, programs, training manuals and expansion of Adolescents and Youth Friendly SRH services across the country in coordination and collaboration with Nepal Government and other EDPs and stakeholders. FPAN has been playing an important role in providing AYSRH and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to different levels of service providers and teachers, enhancing their capacity to provide comprehensive SRH service and education to youth and adolescents in youth friendly way depending upon their age and development. Ms. Suzanne Reier and Mr. Gyawali from Care Nepal also briefed about the goal, objectives, activities, project areas and target groups of USAID ARH program. They expressed their admiration for FPAN's work and contribution in the field of ASRHR. As USAID has supported FPAN with various programs in that past, they showed interest to work with FPAN in this program too. Dr. Shakya thanked them for visiting FPAN and providing a brief introduction to USAID ARH program. Ms. Suzanne and Mr. Gyawali said that they would share FPAN’s activities and contribution in ASRH with their local partners too and will coordinate with them to work together with FPAN at local levels.
